Last year resolutions ( 2025 )
The first friday this my teacher called everyone on stage to share their resolutions for the year that was just started. I at the time was not so passionate about resolutions, especially yearly ones. I thought a year is worst period to set meaningful goals. A year is too short to achieve something big and too big to start one. However, as I was standing on the stage, I made up a couple of resolutions and shared with the class. I also didn't miss telling them what I felt about this concept. So here are my resolutions for the ending year:
• Pass a healthy number of exams
• Don't lie in any situation whatsoever
• Try to live more healthy
• Spend more time with my family
Last one I didn't really tell the class as I just forgot (stage stress)
So, how did I do with my resolutions?
Well, for the exams being a CA student, I really did well. I was planning to take 6 exams this year, and I ended up taking 7 and passed all of them. Also, I completed 2 compulsory courses. I would consider my academic performance for the year good and resolution completed.
As of not lying, I just broke that the next day of commitment. It was tax class, and I jokingly said something I didn't believe in. When I took the resolution, I meant not to lie in any condition even as a joke. The joke part turned out to be pretty difficult to follow. On the other hand, I don't think I lied this year as seriously lying for a purpose. So, I would consider this one semi-complete.
On health, at the start of year I was following a very healthy routine. My days were balanced and when they are life feels good, like really good. But days passed by, and things only went downhill. Food choices became questionable, sports and experience vanished, screen time shot up, life started getting messier and I often found myself in weird mental space. Something I was sitting alone doing noting questioning the purpose of life. So, I would say I didn't really do well in the health department.
Living in another city I want to spend more time with family as I knew one professional life start I would get harder to do. And I got what I wanted but just not the way J wanted. I am ending the year with almost half of it spent at home. And a good bit of it was because I had to stay due to circumstances that required me at home. I would think of it not like a resolution but more like a wish that came true.
Resolutions for the coming year( 2026)
So, have I changed mymindabout yearly resolutions over the year? Notreally my thoughts are mainly the same but I think a year might be a very smalltime to consider for your one big goal but it can be reasonable time to considersome part of it or sor than that, like acquiring a certain skill or somethingr for reviewinggeneral outlook of life.It alsodoesn'treally hurt to get resolutions.
So here are my resolutions for 2026:
• Pass some exams
• Start articles
• Follow a healthy routine
• Improve knowledge and skills
CA and exams cannot be separated so be it. I want to pass either 1 or 5 CA exams depending upon how the situation goes. So hopefully that will go well, I would be sad otherwise.
Articles are a 3-3.5-year training that is required to become a chartered accountant, and I plan to start that during this year. Hopefully that will also go well.
I have lived a healthy life, and I have lived a lazy life and I like the former. Last year was a decline in this department and I would like this one to be a climb. If living a certain way keeps me happy, I should live that way even if it takes some effort. That effort is worth it more than anything else.
Acquiring skills and knowledge gives such a sense of improvement and fulfillment. I have a couple of sills in mind that I want to acquire and information that I want to attain. Most of this is very boring relating to economics and finance. I hope to not get lazy.
I also have a couple more things in mind for the year but that would require more details and context so I would write on that some other day (hopefully).
